2027 Ruby Creek Resort Camp Host

About the Opportunity

Ruby Creek Resort is seeking a friendly, reliable, and service-oriented Camp Host to join our team for the 2027 season.


Nestled along the beautiful Pend Oreille River in Cusick, Washington, Ruby Creek Resort is a boutique waterfront resort known for exceptional hospitality, a peaceful atmosphere, and meticulous attention to detail. With just seven RV sites and two bunkhouses, we provide a personalized guest experience that has earned us an outstanding reputation and hundreds of five-star reviews.


The Camp Host plays an essential role in creating memorable guest experiences while helping maintain the high standards that make Ruby Creek Resort a destination guests return to year after year.


Compensation

· Complimentary waterfront full-hookup RV site for the duration of the season

· 50-AMP electrical service

· Water

· Septic connection

· Garbage service

· Monthly stipend (TBD)

· Two consecutive days off each week

· Opportunity to spend the summer living on the beautiful Pend Oreille River

· Work alongside supportive owners who live onsite


Position Summary

The Camp Host serves as the primary onsite point of contact for guests and assists with the day-to-day operations, property maintenance, and community events that make Ruby Creek Resort a welcoming destination.


This position requires exceptional customer service, professionalism, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining a beautiful resort environment. The Camp Host reports directly to the owners of Ruby Creek Resort, who live onsite and provide ongoing guidance and support.


Schedule

· Seasonal employment from May 1, 2027 through October 1, 2027

· Scheduled to work five days per week. The typical work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday as regular days off.

· Alternative schedules may be considered and approved by resort ownership based on operational needs and advance discussion.

· Work hours will vary depending on guest arrivals, departures, resort activities, and scheduled events.

· Additional availability may occasionally be required to support holidays, special events, or operational needs.

· The Camp Host is expected to maintain a professional presence during scheduled working hours and provide prompt, courteous assistance to guests.


Primary Responsibilities

Guest Services

· Answer incoming phone calls and respond to guest inquiries as needed

· Help book reservations and manage reservation-related questions

· Welcome and check-in arriving guests

· Provide guests with information about the resort and surrounding attractions

· Handle guest requests, questions, and concerns promptly and professionally

· Deliver exceptional customer service throughout every guest interaction

Property Operations

· Open and close the clubhouse each day

· Monitor resort facilities, common areas, and guest amenities

· Help enforce resort policies, rules, and quiet hours

· Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment throughout the property

Grounds & Property Maintenance

· Watering, landscaping, flower beds, and hanging baskets

· Mow lawns and maintain common outdoor spaces

· Assist with light maintenance projects and routine property upkeep

· Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns

· Help ensure the resort consistently presents a clean, polished, and well-maintained appearance

Community Events

· Assist with the setup and teardown of community events hosted at Ruby Creek Resort

· Help prepare event spaces for outdoor concerts, art classes, and other resort activities

· Arrange chairs, tables, event supplies, signage, and other materials as needed

· Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready before and after each event

· Help create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for resort guests and community members attending events


Resort Oversight

· Communicate regularly with resort ownership regarding guest needs, property concerns, and daily operations

· Respond appropriately to guest issues and notify ownership when additional assistance is needed

· Help maintain the peaceful, friendly, and respectful atmosphere that defines Ruby Creek Resort

· Phone calls and guest inquiries are answered promptly, professionally, and with a positive attitude.

· The resort consistently presents a clean, organized, and well-maintained appearance.

· Landscaping, common areas, and facilities are cared for with pride and attention to detail.

· Guest requests and concerns are handled quickly, professionally, and with a solution-oriented mindset.

· Community events, including outdoor concerts, art classes, and other activities, are well organized and enjoyable.

· Resort policies are enforced respectfully and consistently, helping maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests.

· Ownership can confidently entrust the Camp Host with the day-to-day guest experience and property oversight.

· Every guest interaction reflects the hospitality, professionalism, and high standards that have earned Ruby Creek Resort its outstanding reputation.


At Ruby Creek Resort, we believe people may forget what they did during their stay, but they'll always remember how they were treated. Our Camp Host plays an essential role in creating an experience guests look forward to returning to year after year.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

The Camp Host must be able to:

· Lift, carry, push, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds

· Stand and remain on their feet for extended periods

· Walk throughout the resort over grass, gravel, slopes, docks, and other uneven outdoor terrain

· Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive physical movements

· Safely operate basic landscaping and maintenance equipment, including lawn mowers, string trimmers, hoses, and hand tools

· Perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, wind, rain, smoke, and cooler temperatures

· Complete physically active tasks such as watering, mowing, moving tables and chairs, and setting up event spaces

· Climb stairs and move safely throughout indoor and outdoor resort facilities

· Communicate clearly with guests both in person and over the phone

· Respond promptly to guest needs and operational issues during scheduled working hours


Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who enjoys serving others and takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences.


Ideal candidates will possess:

· Previous camp host, campground, hospitality, hotel, resort, or customer service experience

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· A positive, professional, and welcoming attitude

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· The ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Comfort performing outdoor maintenance and light physical labor

· Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities

· Familiarity with RV living and campground operations is strongly preferred

· A willingness to live onsite for the duration of the season


This position is ideal for retirees, remote workers, seasonal travelers, or experienced work campers looking to spend the summer in a beautiful waterfront setting while helping create memorable experiences for guests.


Applicants must provide their own self-contained RV and be prepared to live onsite from May 1 through October 1, 2027.


Supervision

The Camp Host reports directly to the owners of Ruby Creek Resort, who live onsite and provide ongoing guidance, support, and direction. The Camp Host will work closely with ownership to ensure exceptional guest experiences, maintain the property to Ruby Creek Resort's standards, and support the day-to-day operations of the resort.
